I’m a wedding videographer based in the Peak District, so I know this beautiful part of the country very well! It really is a wonderful place to call home, and an equally wonderful place to create wedding videos.
The Peak District is full of beautiful wedding venues. Whether you are looking for an elegant hotel, a stunning stately home, or a rustic country venue, the Peak District offers something for everyone. However, there is so much choice that it can be hard to decide which venue you should choose for your big day! With that in mind I’ve put together a round up of a few of my favourite venues in the Peak District, along with the reasons why they’re the perfect setting for wedding films…
Tissington Hall, Ashbourne, Derbyshire
Tissington Hall in Derbyshire is a magical wedding venue in the heart of the stunning Peak District. I love this venue because it manages to create the perfect blend of historical grandeur and relaxed, contemporary style.
Tissington Hall is exclusively yours to enjoy for the day, and is licenced to hold marriages and civil partnerships. There are a number of stunning event rooms to choose from, including the Main Hall which can accommodate up to 85 guests, and the East Drawing Room which can accommodate up to 50 guests.
As a wedding videographer, the space that really stands out to me is the Terrace Arcade, an elegant outside area that is ideal for an outdoor ceremony if the weather is being kind, and the perfect spot to capture some beautiful wedding videography.
The Pavilion at Brookfield Manor, Hathersage, Peak District
Set in the stunning Derbyshire Dales, the Pavilion at Brookfield Manor is a relative newcomer to the Peak District wedding scene, but it’s already capturing the imagination of many couples.
Nestled in its own gardens and surrounded by mature trees in the private 130 acres of the historic Brookfield Manor, the Pavilion offers an historic setting, a mile-long driveway on the approach to the venue, and tree lined vistas which provide the perfect backdrop for wedding videography.
This venue has so many features that are a wedding videographer’s dream: the mellow Peak District stone building, the modern but classically styled interiors, the large terrace and fountain with manicured marquee lawns, and the ‘Monet’ Giverny style bridge.
If you’re choosing to get married in the Peak District, it’s probably because you love the outstanding natural beauty of this area. If so, the Pavilion at Brookfield Manor could be the ideal venue for you, as it offers uninterrupted views of the surrounding countryside.
Callow Hall, Ashbourne, Derbyshire
This relaxed country house hotel in the Peak District won the Sunday Times ‘Hotel of the Year’ award and it’s not hard to see why.
Elegant and unique, this Victorian country house is the perfect backdrop for your special day (and your wedding film!) Nestled in ancient woodland and meadows, Callow Hall is a unique country house hotel with an unrivalled setting and renowned restaurant.
As a wedding videographer, I love that this venue is surrounded by acres of private garden, fields and woodland overlooking the Bentley Brook and vale of the River Dove: it makes the perfect setting for some stunning wedding videography.
Other fabulous features of this Peak District venue include an elegant hall, elaborate ceilings, heavily draped curtains, oak staircases, fine antiques, and cosy fireplaces.
