I was recently invited to be the wedding videographer at the wedding of Ashley and Joanne, at Sandhole Oak Barn, Cheshire.

I knew that Sandhole Oak Barn, situated in Congleton in the middle of the Cheshire countryside, was a beautiful venue, so I couldn’t wait to get started on creating this wedding film.

Sandhole Oak Barn, Cheshire

Sandhole Oak Barn is a stunning oak barn conversion set beside a tranquil lake, set in 400 acres of rolling Cheshire countryside. The venue enjoys breathtaking lake and countryside views across Cheshire which I captured by drone. Aerial footage is a really special addition to any wedding video, and Sandhole Oak Barn was the ideal venue for it.

On the morning of the wedding I joined Joanne and her bridal party for bridal prep at Sandhole Farm B&B, the venue’s very own guest accommodation. Situated in some converted stables, the fabulous Dressing Room is ideal for bridal prep, and I spent a fun morning with the bridal party capturing some great footage of everyone having fun getting ready.

It’s always an emotional moment when the family of the bride get to see the bride in her wedding dress. As a wedding videographer, it’s one of my favourite moments to capture, and the reaction of Joanne’s dad certainly didn’t disappoint!

Whilst the girls got ready, the groom was busy organising the decorations at the venue! I managed to capture some footage for the wedding film which shows him hard at work! I then joined Ashley and his groomsmen as they were getting ready, and I was there to film them walking to the venue for the main event!

Wedding Videography at Sandhole Oak Barn, Cheshire

The ceremony took place in the Oak Barn, a magnificent rustic barn set beside the six-acre lake, and surrounded by rolling Cheshire countryside. With oak flooring and full height windows overlooking the lake, it was the perfect space for Ashley and Joanne to say ‘I do’.

I captured some lovely footage for the wedding video of guests waiting for the ceremony to start. Ashley was really emotional as soon as music started before anyone even walked down the aisle! It was a pleasure to film Joanne, her dad, and her bridesmaids walking down the aisle. This is always a special moment in anyone’s wedding video.

After the ceremony we headed outside for one of my favourite moments of the day. We took a little time out with just Ashley and Joanne so they could spend a few moments together as newlyweds. This gave us the opportunity to film some stunning drone shots of the couple in the neighbouring fields of wheat. A plane flew past during portraits which made for quite a unique moment and I was on hand with my camera to capture it for the wedding video as always!

The guests then went inside for the wedding breakfast and speeches in The Dining Barn, followed by the evening party. Everyone enjoyed music from a fantastic acoustic band with a saxophone which created a great party atmosphere and was the perfect end to the day.

If you’re thinking of getting married at Sandhole Oak Barn, Cheshire and would like to discuss your wedding videography, I would love to have a chat! I’m a wedding videographer based in Derbyshire and the surrounding areas, and am always happy to discuss your wedding plans.
