When a wedding couple first get engaged, it doesn’t take long for a bride to start making them all important wedding day plans. What dress am I going to where? Who are we going to invite? But arguably the most important wedding day decision has to be where do you want to get married? What is that special wedding venue that I dreamed of getting married in?

The Peak District is one of the most stunning areas in England. Yes, I will be biased as I live in the area. However having come from the city life near Manchester, I often pinch myself at the beauty that surrounds me in the national park area. So….which stunning wedding venues are based in and around the Peak District?

The beauty of being a wedding videographer in the Peak District, it gives me the opportunity to visit a large amount of beautiful wedding venues across the country. In the Peak National Park you have the choice of many varieties of wedding venue styles. Whether you are after the modern hotel with cosmopolitan feel, or a rustic and rural setting, you are covered in an abundance.

Losehill House Hotel & Spa

Nestled deep in a valley on the outskirts of Castleton, Losehill House isn’t actually a full time wedding venue. During the week and the weekends when no events are taking place, the hotel is known to serve some of the best food in the local area. I have had the pleasure of experiencing this first hand, when on my break of videographer duties on a wedding day here. I can 100% confirm it is.

The hotel brands itself as a Luxury Country hotel and it can cater up to 80 wedding reception guests for a sitdown meal. With the occupancy increasing to 120 people when the bride, groom and all the wedding guests dance the night away.

Having shot at the hotel, one big plus for a wedding videographer is there is plenty of beautiful greenery around for couples who have made the choice to have a countryside themed wedding. With no shortage of filming locations for the couple to take some much needed time alone, you may see the odd person if you are lucky and certainly alot of sheep. It is always a plsu here aswell for aerial drone shots, as the venue looks fantastic from above tucked away between the bunches of trees that surround it.

The Buxton Crescent Hotel

If you are after a cosmopolitan themed wedding where there are no shortage of chandaliers, staircases and grand rooms – The Buxton Crescent Hotel should be a consideration for you and your Peak District wedding.

Having been a building that was left vacant for some time, the National Lottery fund spent around £5 million to renovate the building. After a few years the hotel that is also part of the Ensana chain, stands as one of the main landmarks within the historical area of Buxton. Having filmed a wedding at the venue recently for the first time, I had the chance to experience the high level of detail that the venue has in its stunning architecture and history. One of the standout benefits of the venue is the many photo opporunities. Namely by being next to to one of the most stunning public spaces across the Peak District, Pavillion Gardens.

Having originally come from Manchester, only 15 minutes out of the city centre, I am so greatful to live in such as stunning area as the Peak District. Mix in my passion of content creation and the wedding films I produce, I am in a perfect location to ensure I am able to deliver many wedding couples a perfect memory of their wedding celebrations.

If you’re getting married in The Peak District and would like to discuss your wedding videography, I would love to have a chat! I’m a wedding videographer based in Derbyshire and the surrounding areas, and am always happy to discuss your wedding plans.
